User surveys is one of the tools of making communication with users as effective as possible. Users are your ultimate guiding light on the road to success, and you have to listen to them.

Here we have collected the most effective user survey questions that you can ask.

Questions for a good user survey:

1. What is the hardest part about solving the problem your application solves?

The user will tell you about his specific pain and his attitude to this problem. Record his answers, his opinion and position, so that later it will be easier for you to organize the data received from several respondents.

Another undoubted advantage of this question is that the user can accidentally throw up an idea that has not occurred to you before. In the future, you can work it out.

2. How did the user solve their problem using your application the last time?

You need to find out:

– the specific time period when he had this problem (day of the week, time);

– under what circumstances the problem arose (what he did before there was a need to solve it);

– urgency in solving the problem (it was necessary to do it at the moment or there was time for the solution).

Having an understanding of this context, you will understand more about the motivation of the user to use your service. Make sure you include these questions in the user survey.

3. Why is this problem so difficult to solve, in his opinion?

You will receive many different opinions and points of view on this issue. Then you will be able to use them competently in order to promote your application on the market more correctly and effectively. Knowing the main problems of people will make it easier for you to communicate the value of your application to potential users. A good user survey encourages participants to tell the real problem that caused them to buy the product.

Remember – users do not buy an application, no matter how cool it is, they acquire the most comfortable and convenient way to solve their problem.

4. What did they personally do to solve this problem?

You need to understand the seriousness and importance of this problem.

If, in the course of the answer, you understand that the user did not even try to look for solutions to this problem, then it is not so serious. But if he tried to solve it many times and in different ways, then your application is relevant.

Ask him exactly how he solved this problem before:

– he did it alone or with someone;

– what multimedia tools he used;

– how long it took him to solve this problem.
At the same time, having received an answer to this question, you can find out what other services are competitors to your application.

5. What solutions to the problem that the user has already used does not like?

Having received an answer to this question, you can understand which of the tools that already exist to solve this problem are problematic and undesirable for the user. You will be able to compare the answers and understand the difference between the solutions that already existed and your application.
